An Easy Way to Run Windows 7 Free of Activation ... for 120 Days
Believe it or not, there is a simple command for Windows 7 that allows you to run the OS free without activation, but don’t get too excited; there’s a catch. It only works for 120 days. Some Vista users may remember there was a similar function built into Vista at its launch. The apparent purpose? To cater to those people who just don’t want to be hassled with putting in an activation code … I guess.
If you go to the command prompt in Windows 7 and type in “slmgr –rearm” (without the quotes), Windows 7 will keep operating for 30 days without activation. You can do this 3 times, meaning you can get a total of 120 days out of it, free of activation. Of course, you still paid for the darn thing, and entering the activation code can’t be that much harder than typing in the command prompt once a month. But if you really want to delay Microsoft from knowing you’ve got copy 2345-D-8256GH-X23Z72, this is exactly what you want. Enjoy.
