Even though Microsoft gave us some numbers for how all the various versions of Windows 7 will be priced, nothing was said about the Family Pack or the upgrade pricing. Those are two important things to know before people buy. But Microsoft could never keep information like that quiet for long, and sure enough, the pricing for Family Packs and Anytime Upgrades leaked out.

The Family Pack includes 3 Windows 7 Home Premium licenses and the Anytime Upgrade program will allow you to upgrade to a higher version of Windows 7 for a fee (of course). There is no official information on this, but ZDNet is saying the Family Pack will be priced at $137. The Anytime Upgrades will go as follows: Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium will cost $82, Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional will cost $91 and Home Premium to Ultimate will cost $138. UPDATE: Computerworld puts it at $150.

nterestingly enough, Microsoft is also planning a pre-release promotion that will make the Home Premium upgrade $49 and the Professional upgrade $99. Some pretty aggressive prices for Microsoft.
