In the past I've learned to expect bad things from new Windows operating systems but Vista seems to be pretty good. I still get programs crashing fairly regularly, but at least Vista handles it somewhat elegantly. The biggest downside is that in order to support all of the visual prettiness, Vista uses a lot of your system resources.
