Windows 7 Beta Download No Longer Available
Unless you've been living in an iCave for the past few months, you've seen some of the positive press on Windows 7. Even though it's still a beta, it represents a dramatic improvement on Windows Vista as far as both functionality and support are concerned. Unlike the awkward Vista, the Windows 7 Beta doesn't seem to revile us, the end users.
So, if you still havent taken the Windows 7 Beta for a spin, be sure to finish your download. Microsoft is giving all of us still slowly downloading the 7 Beta two days to wrap up the massive XX GB data transfer. Microsoft cut off new signups this morning, but you can still get an activation key today and tomorrow. Check with Microsoft for details.
So procrastinators: Get on it!
I had a chance to spend some quality time with the Windows 7 Beta, and its the first time in my life that I can recall actually being pretty enthusiastic about an OS . Theres a lot to like in the 7 Beta. Ill admit that Im a sucker for flashing, colorful things, and that probably accounts for my initial positive reaction. But, after some pretty intensive testing in our secret underground labs, Windows 7 had all of the functionality of Windows Vista, recognized all of my hardware without drivers, and best of all, had a substantially lighter memory footprint than its hulking predecessor.
Interest piqued? Read our full review of the Windows 7 Beta . You're going to want to know what you're getting into when WIndows 7 is released later this year. Otherwise, might I recommend some lighthearted, lunch break tech news from our blog?
