The age of Windows Vista has officially given away to a new era of Windows operating system: Windows 7. And we couldn’t be happier. Today is the big day we’ve been waiting for as Windows 7 becomes available on desktop and laptop computers. You can also get Windows 7 as an upgrade for the PC you currently own.

Microsoft celebrated the launch of Windows 7 with a special press event. But don’t feel bad about missing it, they didn’t reveal anything we haven’t heard a million times. But they did give that cute little girl from the Microsoft commercials a pretty pink laptop. Like I said, you didn’t miss much.

We’ve been following the development of Windows 7 for quite some time, so if you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, you can follow the excitement from clear back when we reviewed the Windows 7 Beta on through the reveals about pricing and version plans to the news that Windows 7 would be running on netbooks.

And if you’re wondering what kind of computers and deals you can get with Windows 7, check out the site Microsoft put together to showcase Windows 7 machines. These aren’t computers manufactured by Microsoft; but to promote the machines running Windows 7, Microsoft has put together a special site in the Microsoft Store to highlight Windows 7 computers from other manufacturers. It’s actually pretty useful if you don’t know what your options are. There’s a nice sorting tool to help you find computers based on price, brand, screen size and specs.

So check out the new face of Windows; you’ll like what you see.
