Windows 7 Is the Cheapest Windows OS Yet
I know that's a headline you weren't expecting to see, but some enterprising bloggers have actually posted some well reasoned arguments for why the Windows 7 pricing structure is actually pretty good.Frankly, we were happy enough that Windows 7 was announced yesterday to be cheaper than Vista, but it gets better. If you adjust for inflation, Windows 7 is cheaper than every other version (both consumer and pro) of Windows to date.

Obviously this chart doesn't make us feel nearly as good about Windows 7 as the new upgrade discounts do (I'll take $50 prices over $120 any day), but it's one more way to feel good about getting away from Vista and moving on to Windows 7, as if we needed another reason.
